When Rose Hill Lane first opened its doors, five years ago, it was with a simple desire to do things differently. Our goal was to provide premium personal care with a genuine approach and a strong focus on developing relationships and trust with individuals struggling with the challenges of aging. At the time, Anna Schmoll – the owner and Director of Care – envisioned a small business with a handful of clients and a few carefully selected Personal Support Workers to assist her with the provision of care.
With one of the largest aging populations in Canada – the Niagara Region had other plans for Rose Hill Lane.
This month Rose Hill Lane celebrates its fifth anniversary but, more importantly, we celebrate the honour of having served the needs of Niagara’s elder community.
We are eternally grateful to for the Niagara Healthcare System and our community partners. Their support has allowed us to quickly become a boutique firm known for providing trustworthy and therapeutic care for those most in need. Rose Hill Lane has become a caring and life improving response to a need, and as the landscape of health care shifts and alters, so do we.
The last census taken by Statistics Canada in 2016 shows the number of Niagara residents aged 65 and older account for 21.4% of Niagara’s population or approximately 96,000 people. This is much higher than the national average which was 16.9% at the time of the census. It is evident that there was and still remains a strong need in Niagara for the tailored care that Rose Hill Lane offers.
Rose Hill Lane doesn’t just assist with the physical and mental hurdles of aging. Our purpose is to alleviate the fears that come along with aging and to support clients chosen lifestyle and independence. It is this personalized, flexible care that has received such overwhelming recognition from families, powers of attorney, and medical professionals. We hope to leverage these principles and philosophies of commitment and care so we can continue to grow and serve the elderly community in Niagara.
We are grateful to our clients for allowing us into their homes and lives and to our community partners for collaborating and growing with us, and to our team for being the compassionate, empathetic people that make this vision possible.
