Beginning as a Personal Support Worker (PSW) in December of 2020, Shaeley wants to give care to those in need of it and protect those who need it most. Her motivation to follow this path was the pandemic. She saw the demand for caregiving, and after finishing her bachelor’s in Kinesiology she took some courses working with individuals with different care needs. One of her favourite memories was with one of her first clients, a British lady who taught her British slang and told Shaeley many stories about her youth. Her advice for future and current PSWs is to remember to take care of yourself as well in order to give your best care to your client and to keep going because it’s so rewarding to see how your care affects others.
